B:K and Learning as a Vital Metaphor at KROMATIC
Sant Andreu de la Barca
B:K, a muralist from the Catalan Pyrenees, has brought an evocative and symbol-filled perspective to the KROMATIC Festival in Sant Andreu de la Barca with a piece that reflects on education as a driving force for both personal and collective growth. The artist is known for blending chiaroscuro and surrealism with contemporary themes influenced by hip-hop and classical painting.
The mural, located at 57 Constitució Avenue, depicts a scene that links childhood with memory. The composition traces a journey that values early experiences as the foundation of human development. On the right, a group of children plays with a paper boat — a symbol of learning as a shared game. At the center, one of the girls, now grown, gazes at that same boat, transformed by the passing of time.
Through this intervention, B:K invites us to view education as a transformative force that takes root in childhood and blossoms throughout life. The work reflects the values that the KROMATIC Festival aims to highlight: art as an educational, inclusive, and meaningful tool.
