Wall Lab by MINA AND KENOR
Barcelona

Last november, the artists Kenor and Mina Hamada were the protagonists of the latest edition of the Wall Lab, a project produced by our organization Rebobinart in collaboration with Philarthropic and Meridia Capital.
Wall lab is a Wallspot program aimed at artistic experimentation in public spaces from the creation of long-lasting walls, in which it has been carried out in the space under construction that will welcome the new Smart 1 building.
In this edition, we decided to choose two artists who have experienced, first hand, the environment in which the intervention took place: the plot of Carrer Pere IV with Carrer Fluvià, in Poblenou, Barcelona. The project has been carried out, specifically, in a fence that is next to the Factory of Creation ” La Escocesa ”, an old factory recovered and reopened for an artistic practice, which has been home of the participants of this Wall Lab.
Kenor’s work has electronic music as a conceptual line, which he interprets visually; treating rhythm and balance through a set of lines and colours. Quoting the artist, the goal of his work is ” to make the viewer feel part of a sound fragment as well as part of a community ”.
On her part, Mina used a style related to the young, warm and bright creative spirit, depicting the welfare that the new building will bring into the neighbourhood and reflecting, through fluid and abstract shapes, an expectation of the energy that the new community will bring. Therefore, we can see organic forms that exalt nature and produce a calmed vibe. Also, the artist has added different textures that link her work with the history of the textile industry, which also characterizes the Poblenou neighbourhood.
Rebobinart, in addition to being in charge of the production, has provided the artists all the necessary material to develop their work, artistic fees and a video that will work as a promotion of their artwork.
With the support of Philarthropic and Meridia Capital.
