Dima Korma – Color in Motion

Nou Barris, Barcelona / December 2025

A mural by Dima Korma that transforms public space through colour, visual rhythm and a shared aesthetic experience.

The artist: Dima Korma

Dima Korma is a visual artist who works primarily in the field of abstract muralism. His practice focuses on exploring colour, form and rhythm as a language in itself, using mural painting as a tool to transform the perception of public space.

His interventions do not stem from an explicit narrative, but rather seek to generate sensations, emotions and open-ended visual experiences, establishing a direct relationship between the artwork, the architecture and the people who move through the space.

The artwork: “Colour in Motion”

Location: Antoni Gelabert Municipal Sports Courts, Via Favència 143, Nou Barris, Barcelona.

The mural Colour in Motion is an abstract intervention conceived specifically for a space of everyday use and high activity. Located at the Antoni Gelabert Municipal Sports Courts, the work takes movement, energy and the dynamism of sports activity as its starting point, integrating organically into the daily life of the venue.

Through a visual language based on fluid forms and vibrant colours, Dima Korma establishes an ongoing dialogue with the movement of bodies and with the architecture of the space. The mural does not tell a specific story; instead, it accompanies the use of the courts and transforms their perception, introducing an aesthetic dimension that contributes to collective well-being and strengthens the relationship between body, space and the urban environment.

NOU Sentit Urbà: urban art in the Nou Barris district

This intervention is part of the 18 artistic actions of the NOU Sentit Urbà project, promoted by Barcelona City Council and produced by Rebobinart, with the collaboration of the Nou Barris District and local neighborhood communities.
The project recovers collective memories and local identities through murals, installations, and participatory processes, addressing themes such as older age, sustainability, migration, neighborhood women, vernacular architecture, or sport as a force for cohesion. Each intervention adds a piece to Nou Barris’ shared story, reinforcing the value of memory and the role of urban art as a tool for social transformation.
