Open Call for Creatives

Can you imagine transforming 17 shop shutters into works of art across 10 different neighborhoods in Barcelona?

From Rebobinart and the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation, we are launching a call to select 10 artists to be part of a collaborative urban art project that will highlight local commerce through creativity.

👉 The aim of the project is to visually transform the urban landscape, recognize local artistic talent, and strengthen connections between the community and neighborhood businesses. Through artistic interventions on shop shutters, we want to give visibility to the people who sustain Barcelona’s commercial fabric and foster a city that is more connected, vibrant, and expressive.

Each selected artist will paint 17 shutters, distributed across 10 neighborhoods in the city, working hand in hand with local commercial hubs and connecting with the stories behind each business and the people who run them.

We’re looking for visual creatives with a realistic style and strong spray paint skills, with the sensitivity to understand and represent the reality of local commerce.

💼 What’s on offer?

• 💰 €550 + VAT per shutter

• 📦 Total: €9,350 + VAT per artist

This amount includes production costs such as paint, caps, or varnish. You will be responsible for managing your own materials, but Rebobinart will support you and connect you with specialized suppliers.

👤 Who can apply?

Artists, designers, illustrators, and visual creatives:

• Over 18 years old

• Residents of Catalonia

• With experience in public space interventions

To participate, you must:

• Be registered as self-employed

• Be up to date with payments to Social Security and the Tax Agency

• Submit a portfolio with previous projects

🗓️ Timeline

• 📅 Application deadline: June 27

• ✅ Artist selection: June 30 to July 2

• 🎨 Workshop & showcase: July 7–11 at Rebobinart

• 🛠️ Shutter interventions: July 21 to November 7

📣 Visibility and Promotion

We will document the entire process and share your work through social media, media outlets, and official channels. The project includes a communications plan designed to generate real visibility for both the artists and the businesses involved.

We only ask for permission to use images of your work for promotional purposes, always crediting you as the author.
