La Mercè 2013 — three days of urban art in Plaça Catalunya

Rebobinart was once again one of the associations invited to the community showcase during La Mercè 2013 festivities. Over 3 days we brought colour to Plaça Catalunya with exhibitions by local urban artists and workshops for young people.
The pieces made the previous year were on display in the square from day one, joined gradually by the works created by the 9 artists invited this year by Murs Lliures.
It’s very positive that we’ve established, during these festive dates, a showcase of urban art right in the heart of the city. Since last year we’ve worked hard, and made great progress towards our goal of continuing to open up legal spaces for Barcelona’s urban art.
We’re also aware that many more spaces are still needed across the city, to make room for everyone with an artistic drive who wants a space to express themselves.
Once again, the huge number of people who took an interest — both in the artists’ work and in having their children take part in our workshops — shows that the public enjoys urban art and supports the Murs Lliures initiative.
