Ruta Art i Espai Públic

On Saturday 18 May 2019 we led an urban art tour as part of “Art i Espai Públic” (Art and Public Space), a series of free activities organised by the Centre Cívic d’Urgell and Barcelona City Council. The series is also part of “Vides a l’aire”, a project coordinated by Camí Amic in the Esquerra de l’Eixample and Sant Antoni neighbourhoods that invites people to look at and think about art in public space in a new way.
The tour took place in Poblenou, one of Barcelona’s urban art hotspots, where a large number of walls hold works by local, Spanish and international artists and reflect the city’s artistic pulse and its changes over time.
Starting at 11 am and led by Marc Garcia of Rebobinart, the route explored the neighbourhood’s streets to understand the past and present of urban art in Barcelona, telling participants the stories behind the walls and about the growing artistic community that fills the city’s streets with colour and life every day.
