Community and participatory murals

Octavi Serra turns anonymous corners of Barcelona into impossible scenes: an urban installation that plays with perception and invites you to look at the city twice. Conceptual urban art produced end to end by Rebobinart.

Featured projects in Barcelona

Every mural project in Barcelona is different: no two walls are alike, and no two clients need the same thing. Here are three that show the range of formats, clients and neighbourhoods we work in.

Nou Sentit Urbà

The Nou Sentit Urbà programme turned Sant Adrià de Besòs, a town on Barcelona’s northern edge, into one of the metropolitan area’s urban art landmarks. Rebobinart produced and coordinated 18 large-format mural interventions, each shaped by participatory work with local residents.

    How we work

We handle the project from start to finish. All you do is sign off the key decisions.

    1

    Briefing

We get to know your space, your brand values and your objectives. If the mural is on a façade or in public space, we assess Barcelona’s municipal permit requirements from day one.

    2

    Artistic proposal

We shortlist 2–3 artists from our network of over 500 professionals, with references from comparable projects delivered in Barcelona.

    3

    Design approval

We refine the sketch until you are completely happy with it. Nobody starts painting without your final sign-off.

    4

    Production

We take care of materials, artist coordination and permits with Paisatge Urbà at Barcelona City Council, with no disruption to your business.

    5

    Documentation

Professional photo and video coverage of the finished mural, delivered in high resolution.

    FAQs about murals in Barcelona

How much does a mural in Barcelona cost?

Corporate projects usually fall between €5,000 and €45,000. For large-format murals on party walls or façades the budget can exceed €45,000, particularly when it includes handling permits with the city council.

How long does a mural take to complete?

The full process, from briefing to handover, takes between 4 and 8 weeks. Projects that need Paisatge Urbà permits require an extra 4–6 weeks for the paperwork.

Do you handle permits with Barcelona City Council?

Yes. We know the municipal procedures inside out, including the Paisatge Urbà rules that govern advertising murals on façades and party walls, and we manage the whole application.

    Do you paint indoor murals?

Yes, it is one of our most requested services. Offices, restaurants, shops, hotels and homes. Indoor murals need no municipal permit at all.

    Can we choose the artist?

Yes. You get access to our network of more than 500 artists based in Barcelona, across Spain and around Europe, working in a very wide range of styles.

    Do you work outside Barcelona?

Yes. Barcelona is our base, but we deliver projects all over Spain: Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia and many other cities.
