In November 2021, the artist Lara Costafreda made a community artistic mural included in Les Planes – Blocs La Florida Integral Plan project. This has been a Rebobinart production with the support of the Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council.

Lara Costafreda works developing illustration projects and creative direction for international publications, brands, and agencies. Likewise, she promotes social impact projects related to immigration, racism, the culture of peace, environmentalism, or social justice, among others. In the same way, this collaborative plan aims to bring urban art closer to people and their living areas.

The proposal for the mural is based on a two-hour work session with the students of the Esplai La Florida of the Joaquim Ruyra School in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. In this session, the infants drew various proposals, that Lara Costafreda analyzed later and divided them by themes, of which she selected three: vegetation, abstract shapes, and birds. The mural fuses these three concepts with the floral style of Lara Costafreda, with concepts linked to the school such as “play” and “freedom” and with social concepts linked to the La Florida neighborhood such as “social justice”.

As an artistic activist, Lara Costafreda was highly motivated to participate in this project capable of generating a real and positive impact in a specific environment of society, and the result demonstrates her ability to capture social problems with a subtle and aesthetically attractive style.

Other projects within the same plan are Cuerpos Sonoros by Kenor, the Mural of Women by B-TOY, the Mural for the Elderly by Elisa Capdevila, the Mural of Music at CEIP Pau Vila by Kamil Escruela or the Mural of Birds by Irene López León.
